Catherine Law

Catherine Law, MTSC, is Director of Communications at the International Arts + Mind Lab (IAM Lab). She joined the team in September 2025 to assist with communications efforts for the NeuroArts Blueprint Initiative and is expanding her role to cover a wide range of communications activities for the IAM Lab.

Over her 30 years as a science communications professional, Catherine has had a variety of roles from writing and editing, to leading a press team, to overseeing a content development program, to leading a communications team. She worked at the National Institutes of Health at the National Cancer Institute, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH). She joined NCCIH in 2002 as a writer-editor, and most recently served as its Director of Communications from 2019-2025.

Catherine’s passion for scientific communication comes from her love of science and her desire to share science with an array of audiences including the public, consumers, patients, scientific collaborators, and decision makers. She holds a Master of Technical and Scientific Communication degree from Miami University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Kent State University. Her belief in the arts as an essential form of expression that should be available to all comes from years of experience singing with small and large choral ensembles and performing in school instrumental ensembles.
